CreateATL

Where tech, hope & community have a home

SITUATION / OBJECTIVES:

The historical Southwest Atlanta Adair Park neighborhood has long been divided by transit and highways, food scarcity, unused local parks, speeding cars, and blighted industrial properties. All of this has robbed the area of some dignity that incredible neighbors have fought for through the years. One of those blighted spaces was a 7500 SF warehouse at 900 Murphy Avenue begging for a rebirth.

THE END GOAL:

Transform these three mashed-up warehouses by embedding, demonstrating, and nurturing climate-positive solutions for community-first businesses/entrepreneurs and develop a new model for this Atlanta neighborhood that has been neglected due to systemic social injustice.

THE RESULT:

CreateATL - A micro-adaptive cultural system (MACS) in Atlanta’s historic Adair Park neighborhood. A new kind of third space that is a sustainable community-centric development designed to continually adapt to the needs of its neighbors through the businesses they house.

Through a cost-effective membership model, CreateATL provides the new leaders of tomorrow space to grow their ideas and connect with the community. As a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), it empowers purpose-led entrepreneurs to connect with the neighborhoods they serve. These business leaders demand that businesses serve people and the planet along with profit.

CreateATL knows that what comes next represents the best of humanity. CreateATL is an opportunity to let the leaders around us offer solutions in a rapidly changing world. Through this space, they lift up Atlantans dreaming about building a better tomorrow.
